Making Waves 🌊 One Kick at a Time

It’s my second summer teaching private swim lessons, and let me just say... I am OBSESSED with these kiddos. 🥹 They’re funny, kind, determined, and beyond adorable — and watching them grow in skill and confidence in the water makes my heart do a happy little cannonball every time.

Swimming is hard. Like, REALLY hard. It takes coordination, breath control, trust, and a boatload of practice. But I firmly believe learning to swim is one of the most important life skills a child can have. Little ones are naturally drawn to water — it’s sparkly and fun — but they can quickly find themselves in scary situations if they don’t know what to do. Teaching them young is the key, and honestly, these kids are crushing it. 💪💦

Today, I had one of those unforgettable AH-HA moments with sweet Brynlee. She’s five. Last year? TERRIFIED. Wouldn’t jump in. Wouldn’t put her face in the water. The whole shebang was a hard no for her.

But today? TODAY SOMETHING CLICKED.✨

Brynlee floated on her belly unassisted. She floated on her back unassisted. She swam from the middle of the pool with big, beautiful rainbow arms like she was born to do it. And then… cue the happy tears… she dove to the bottom of the pool and picked up coins during our “Go to the Bank” game. Up until now, that’s been a HARD PASS from her. But today? She did it. And I nearly burst with pride. 🥲

It’s hard to describe how incredible it feels to witness a kid go from unsure and scared to strong and confident. These moments are EVERYTHING. These kids are working so hard and I am ridiculously proud of each one of them.

Big shoutout to the parents who show up, cheer their kids on, and prioritize swimming lessons. 👏👏👏 You’re doing something incredibly important. Truly. KUDOS. 🫶

And Brynlee — thank you for the sweet 'J' bracelet. I’m wearing it with pride. 💖

I’ll see you little fishes next Wednesday. 🐠
