🍺🧶 “No Babysitter? No Problem. Grab a Beer While Your Kid Glues Sh*t.”

Up at 4am: When Your Brain Won’t Shut Up (and you have 💡)
by Jessica Taylor

The 509 Unfiltered / Witty Revolt

It’s 4 a.m. My eyes fly open. Not because of stress. Not because of whining dogs (shoutout to my two golden retrievers).

Nope. I’m awake because my brain is throwing a full-blown Pinterest party with a megaphone.

Crafting.
Camping.
Sewing.
Teaching swim lessons.
Laser-ing all the things.
And then it drops the idea that won’t let me go:

What if parents could drop their kids off for a craft class at a brewery or winery?

Wait—before you clutch your pearls, hear me out.

Picture this: Mom and Dad get an hour—maybe even 90 blissful minutes—to sip a cold beer, listen to some live music, grab a bite from the food truck, and maybe just exist without someone yelling “MOM, LOOK AT THIS!” every 12 seconds.

Meanwhile, your kiddo has options.
They could be:
✔️ Getting creative with painted rocks and googly eyes
✔️ Making paper octopus windsocks that flap like wild
✔️ Beading sun catchers that sparkle like your patience used to
✔️ Crafting clay magnets and doing scavenger hunts like tiny detectives
OR
They could be cartwheeling across the dance floor and licking someone’s corndog.

Now here’s the kicker:
It’s a win for the kids (obviously—they’re learning, making, and getting their hands messy in the best way).
It’s a HUGE win for the parents (seriously, when was the last time you sat down for more than 6 minutes without someone asking for a snack?).
And it supports small businesses—the breweries, the food trucks, the local vendors, the artists and makers who make your town awesome.

This is what’s running through my head at 4 a.m., while the golden retrievers snore and I lie there thinking: Would people actually go for this?

I think they would. I think you would.

So if you're a parent craving a creative way to get a break without ditching your kids… or a brewery looking to spice up your events… let’s talk.

Because sometimes, your brain wakes you up at 4am with a plan.
And sometimes?
It’s actually a pretty damn good one.

Bumblebees & Brewskis

Because parenting is hard. But “Bumblebees & Brewskis” makes it way more fun.

Bee crafts for the kids.
Brewskis for the bigs.
And maybe a few peaceful minutes where no one yells “MOM LOOK!”
